Make or Do?

Grammar Hack #2: Make or Do?

Make or do lunch? Make progress or do progress?

In English it’s often difficult to decide when to use make and when to use do.

Watch this video to get an easy trick to remember this. I call these tricks Grammar Hacks.

Also check out the practice activities under the video (Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels). If you have any questions – leave a comment.

REMEMBER: Grammar Hacks only work in 80-90% of cases. With make or do, one common example is make your bed. When you make your bed, you don’t create anything, it’s a routine activity. So in this case the Grammar Hack doesn’t help.
